Nature advocates of the Black Sea region met in Trabzon:
DON'T TOUCH MY LIVING SPACES!

On October 26, nature defenders from many provinces of the Black Sea region came together in Trabzon. They met at the "Don't Touch My Living Spaces" rally organized by the Stream Brotherhood Platform and Labor and Democracy Forces. They raised their voices against environmental genocide. They stated that they would not allow mining and energy companies to intervene in their living spaces.

The rally marched from Maraş Street to Atatürk Square with the banner "We protect our living spaces, our labor and our future." Banners such as "Give life to nature, not concrete", "Don't touch nature, protect the future", "Local hazelnut producers, not concrete, should be protected", "Intervention in living spaces is a betrayal to the future" were carried.

Nature defenders from Rize, Sinop, Ordu, Samsun, Giresun and Artvin and from the ecological struggle areas of Trabzon formed marching blocks and carried banners showing concrete examples of ecocide and the fight against them.

"The villages founded by our grandfathers, the fields and gardens carefully cultivated by our grandmothers, are the silent witnesses of our history. These lands are our destiny. We are their protectors. Will we remain silent while companies plunder every corner of the country? We shout from Trabzon together with our brothers in various parts of our country: No!"

The speaker on behalf of Labor and Democratic Forces stated that no power can defeat an organized people, a people in unity and solidarity. He concluded his speech as follows:
"We will hold each other tighter, we will hug our neighbors tighter. We will hug the soil tighter. We will look at the mountains with more love. We will stand more determined against the oppressors. Work hard and steal our future:
The labor is ours, the country is ours, the word is ours!"
