Samandağ Ecology Platform: Cancer center should be closed

Samandağ Ecology Platform made a press statement against the Concrete Plant. In the statement, a banner reading "We do not want concrete batching plants in living areas" was opened. Representatives of the Environmental Protection Association and the Turkish Workers' Party, Samandağ Municipal Council Members and students' parents supported the statement.

In the statement, it was stated that the power plant was operating illegally and without a license. It was pointed out that from a legal perspective, it should have been closed much earlier in line with a decision taken by the Municipal Council years ago. "This concrete plant, which poisons the air, water and soil, which are the living spaces of people and all living things, and destroys public health and nature, is a cancer center," it was said.

In its statement, the platform draws attention to the lawsuit filed by the Department of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change for the annulment of the decision "Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required". He demands that the case be heard and decided immediately and that this cancer center should be closed down.
